Second day ....

... walk.

After hitting three of our favorite places to walk yesterday today we went to our other favorite place to walk ... and the closest to home.  I'm afraid to say where exactly as R had his picture pulled down from Facebook by the LV Audubon Society moderator!  I don't understand it all as I don't have a Facebook account but this happened to him all because someone asked where in the LV his owl picture was taken!! Unbelievable!

Anyway ... we walk at this park almost daily in the summer and try to go there as often as possible in the colder months.  As we were walking here today we encountered a group of people who told us about this beautiful barred owl up in a tree nearby.  We immediately went to the spot they indicated and were greatly rewarded!  He/she hung around in the tree long enough for both of us to get lots of photos.  The lighting was late afternoon sun so I had to bring up some of the shadows in order to process to my satisfaction.  And I'm very satisfied!  

We often talk about seeing owls whilst out on our walks but this is the first time it's ever happened!  And we have the group of people we encountered to thank for that. Isn't he magnificent!?!
