Lockdown Part 3
Well, that was(n't) a surprise!
I've spent the day familiarising myself with the minutae of the regulations for Tier 4 and we then hear from the Prime Minister that we are going in to National Lockdown Mark III.
I've taken a few moments to compare at the latest information on the Government website on the new measures and as far as I can see the restrictions and limitations are the same as that for Tier 4, with the added closure of schools and colleges (except for children who are vulnerable or of key workers). Only limited essential courses at Universities will be allowed to continue face to face learning, all other goes on-line.
There is more detail to come once the regulations are drafted and I hope they address the anomalies that stand out in the existing restrictions and exemptions (e.g. is a garden centre really essential or will it just be an excuse for retail therapy for those who have not taken this seriously up to now?).
We shall have to wait and see how successful this is going to be against the rising tide of infection sweeping across the country.
