Fences
There is a convergence of at least four kinds of fencing in this spot. The brain edits out a lot of them surprisingly successfully, but, amazing as cameras are, they don't have brains to edit out the neighbors' fence in the background, or ours next to the stairs.( We will be replacing that one with a simple metal handrail at some point ). I know there are apps and programs to edit things out, but my brain doesn't stretch to learning that, and I don't seem to have the time or motivation to learn. It was going to be one of my new year's resolutions before I decided I had too much on my plate right now to take on resolutions that probably wouldn't last until February. Living each day as fully as I can seems to be quite enough of a resolution for these uncertain times!
The critical fencing is all finished, although there is one small section left to go. The property line is rather tortuous because of a dispute which happened before our time. The brilliant green patches are the neighbors' field which is mostly what we see from our house.
It has been raining all day and I haven't set foot out the door today but I've spent a lot of time sorting out appointments on the telephone. It's almost as if all appointments were accidentally cancelled over the holidays and had to be reset today. I was expecting the worst but things have turned out pretty well. I have an appointment with a new dermatologist on Wednesday and a back door appointment ('go around the back and go through the door with the palm tree') for a haircut on Thursday. I also had a delightful surprise call from Australian Blipper Walking Wombat.
Now it's back to the phone to find a plumber to fix our leaking toilet and some consultants recommended to us to take a look at our postponed solar battery/well pump dilemma and make recommendations. So it's back into the fray after a brief hiatus to recharge our own batteries...
