Viking Longboat!

We had a visit to Edinburgh Museum today, it was supposed to be the Castle, but the weather and the fact OH's membership card was missing meant we headed for the Museum instead. I'm glad we did though, they have a Viking exhibit on at the moment, and it was presented really well. This particular exhibit was the iron nails from a longboat, strung in the shape it would have been if there was wood to complete it. I did ask very politely and with a big smile if I could take this photo, and the guard said 'No but its time for me to do a sweep of the floor, so you have 2 minutes'. I did not hang about and unfortunately did not really do it justice, it was a spectacular piece.
