Gently down the stream

Achilles Morpho

For today, my daughter and I had planned an extravagant part 2 of our fashion shoot for her Etsy site. The planned venue was the glasshouse in RHS Wisley where they have exotic butterflies at this time of year. In the end, though, we had a rather quieter time, admiring the beauty of these wonderful insects. This is an Achilles Morpho. When open, its wings are black with a broad blue stripe.

To all of you who so kindly asked, yes, my mum is rather better today. However, we have had a devasting family sadness this weekend. I will catch up on all commenting from today and yesterday as I can - soon, but forgive me if it's not immediate. Your support and friendship are great gifts and I value them hugely xx
