Gaura Schmaura
What sort of a goddam hell name is Gaura for a beautiful flower like this? Apparently originates from the Greek word gauros, meaning superb - which it is - but really, couldn't they choose a better looking (and -sounding) word than Gaura? Grows really well in hot, dry conditions - so perfect for southern Australian regions - and actually grows better in poor soil than in rich. That's just plain endearing - despite the name.
