Last day of freedom, first BBQ of the year.
I shuffled about the hoose for most of the morning, with a brief interlude at Lidl.
Then up to drag Her out for fresh air and exercise. We came back north to set a fire on the beach and have some lunch... a Sabrina Ghayour pork stew with bulgar wheat stirred through it, and added pitta bread.
A fair blaze did battle with the arctic blast coming across the Firth of Forth and largely won. As the fuel dwindled, the bubble of warmth that protected us from reality and so - stinking of wood smoke ‐ we beat a retreat back to Hers.
The tree was duly disposed of, needles swept up; the reward was cheese and biscuits.
Extra shows me swapping chef whites for North Face kit to cook in challenging conditions. It's not often I cook with pliers, either....
