A little horse

On our state-sanctioned walk around the block this morning this little horse (Shetland pony??) was standing by the fence at the edge of the field down the lane and hung around for me to make a fuss of him/her. I wished I'd had a carrot on me but, sadly, I was empty pocketed.

And so we're locked down again. It's hard to escape the view that had our government acted sooner and more decisively at pretty much every step of the way we might not be in quite such a mess now.  Fingers crossed the vaccine soon gets us out of it - bring on the Spring!

In other news, my tenure at the university has been extended for another two years, which is great for me and all the research I'm doing and want to do :)
