Ice on the canal

But I wouldn't try to walk on it, unless you are a small bird. I was going down the town today to get the usual things. The town was dead, of course, which for me was fine. On the way back, a bright eyed wee boy was going down the pavement opposite me on his very new looking blue scooter.
   "You gave me a fright," he said. "I didn't see you."
   "Did you think I had just appeared?" He agreed that he had.
   "Well I was here all along," I said. It turns out that his scooter can go up hills as well  as down, and it lights up as well. I enjoyed this little exchange, it kind of made my day.
