The accidental finding

Untroubled waters

I was not feeling great today, after the news at 8pm last night that nurseries in England have to stay open. This was discussed on the BBC this morning, with the prevailing view being that this is a political decision rather than based on science or health. Time to don the Superhero costumes and magical immunity belts...

Decided to go for a walk up the Heavens valley and round to the Horns valley. This stream and waterfall in the Heavens has changed since we moved here 17 years ago. The waterfall looks more dramatic now, as there have been various landslips.

My walk only took about an hour, but helped me clear my head. When I got home, I sent some family photos to my youngest sister who had requested them for her son, who is now 27 and resembles his dad strongly. Then, feeling gloomy, I took down the Christmas tree and all the decorations, apart from the crib (it's Epiphany tomorrow, and the kings haven't arrived yet) and a set of lights that will keep me cheered during lockdown. Felt so much better once it had been hoovered, there is much more space.

Texted my boss and asked if she actually needed me tomorrow (I'm not actually contracted to work on Wednesdays) and she said no. I heaved a sigh of relief. Ok, I'll have to do my tax return, but at least I can do it at home without the window open and ten jumpers on!
