Another lockdown begins

The first morning of the latest lockdown dawned grey and quiet. Later the traffic picked up despite the expectation that we all now stay at home.

I took advantage of still being allowed to meet one other person for a long walk with a friend. It was good to catch up in these strangest of times.

Later, an hilarious FaceTime with our youngest grandchildren lifted our spirits. We have not seen them since last Christmas but thanks to the wonders of virtual communications we still maintain a vital link. We are also standing by to slot into assisting our older grandchildren with their homeschooling!

The Christmas tree comes down tomorrow at the end of a very strange Christmas season when none has come into our house at all.

On twelfth night last year we entertained all our immediate neighbours for drinks. Those were the days!
