Last of the Lights

A friend and I were text chatting this morning, commenting that we have up days and down days during these strange times. No sooner had she said, 'I’m grateful that we have a warm house. Some of our friends don’t as their flat has no heating', Bb called through to say our boiler had a water leak. Aaagh, and tomorrow's Kings' Day, like Christmas and everything closed! I remembered that we pay for a service contract, so Bb called the gas company up and true to their word, someone was at the house within three hours. Sadly, he wasn't able to fix it on the spot, but told us what to do so that we can still have heating and hot water safely till Thursday, when they'll come back. He predicted it'll cost few hundred euros :-( Our contract covers call outs and labour,, but not parts. Fingers crossed that it doesn't go up by Thursday. The temperature's down at 2 degrees in the morning and at night these days and although neither of us like a too warm house, it's good to take the chill off the air.

Later on tonight, I read that we might have more paperwork to do related to Brexit. Ggrrr.

Other than that, we had two walks, went to the bank, bought our Kings' day cake, had a nice dinner of salad and pasta and watched Grand Designs. We're working our way through the archives!

15,500 steps at the end of the day. More normal this week, but still ok.
