The first pear on my lockdown tree

I planted 2 pear trees a day or so after our lockdown finished in April. I had to fill a hole that irritated me throughout lockdown, so the moment we were released I got the 2 trees. Pleased to say they are growing like pear trees should and both have a pear. A friend did suggest to cut them off for growth sake but I do not have the heart to do it. Now to keep the birds away from the 2 pears!
