Walking on water
A strange day, signs of sunshine in the village but we descended into cloud hanging over Bingley in the Aire Valley.
We went for walk along the canal (Leeds Liverpool) and the access path onto the bridge over the bypass and railway was sheet ice. Managed it with the help of the hand rail but decided to not come back that way!
Quite a lot of slippy patches on the towpath too. They seemed to be doing some work on the Five Rise locks and the cafe of the same name was closed, so no coffee!
As you can see there was quite a bit of ice on the canal itself providing fun for the ducks here by the three rise locks. Quite liked the reflected windows form the canal side flats in this shot too.
Walked back into Bingley to avoid the icy bridge, there were five female Gooseanders/Mergansers and one male just below the locks and a Cormorant.
The town seemed very quiet as we walked through and back to the car.
We then headed over the moor to M&S and passed briefly into sun again but there was heavy cloud hanging over everywhere with a strange light in the distance over Bradford ( Listers Mill chimney, Manningham can be seen in the extra)
Good to find M&S just as normal in this new lockdown, no queue and everything orderly., seems like something we can rely on.
Very cold and more snow on the way we hear.
