Orion
The aurora forecast was promising but the reality disappointing. A stubborn bank of cloud sat over the horizon to the north blanketing out any possible sightings. Instead I turned my camera south and tried to photograph the constellation of Orion and his dog Sirius. Well done if you can identify them in my photo.
Astro-photography is hard, not least due to the cold. The fingers of my right hand went numb.
This image was taken with a 30 second exposure after a 2 second self timer to minimise camera shake.
