the last of the Christmas pears

i made a tart

Christmas Baked Pears
4 pears cored & halved
a sprinkle of cinnamon 
some cardamon seeds
1/2 cup maple syrup whisked with 1 tsp vanilla extract
bake for half an hour

2 eggs / sugar / cream / orange flower water / a bit more vanilla extract
pour over the baked pears and cook for a further half hour.

place a star anise  in the centre of the dish towards end of cooking
