Not Fire and Ice
The Icelandic winter days are short, therefore, activities are frequently under night conditions.
This afternoon, I decided on a quick bike ride around the peninsular. It was quite cold. The frozen water fountain in the photo demonstrates this clearly.
Regarding the house that appears to be on fire...yesterday was indeed January 6, the end of Advent, when we should all take down our Christians decorations and lights.
In Iceland, many people choose to ignore this rule and keep their lights burning bright for another few weeks, just to help us through these darkest of days.
The lights of downtown Reykjavik are illuminating the horizon.
