Geese surfing

OK I feel a bit bad posting this as I know how AWFUL the weather has been in mainland UK today. But here, after a frosty start, it was actually quite warm in the sun, with a serenely calm sea. These Brent Geese (I think) are wintering 'down south' and they were very excited about the weather today, here they are surfing!

This lunchtime walk cheered me up, after last night spent watching the awful events in the US, and the general mental malaise of everyone seemingly this week. I guess the expectation was that somehow things would magically feel better once we were into the new year. But of course they don't. 

But onward and upward... Spring IS around the corner.
