The Town Goose

This goose lives on the edge of town, wandering back and forth across the road from a large sloping lawn in from of some seasonal condos to a bluff overlooking the harbor and back. There is a pullout in this spot where tourists take pictures in the summertime, or locals will stop to make phone calls in the off season. Besides the occasional handout from such people, the goose was apparently watched over by an older gentleman who lived nearby and would make sure he was always fed. Unfortunately this man died about two weeks ago, and there is some local talk about what might ultimately happen to the bird now. 

No one seems to know how he got here in the first place. It seems possible he doesn't realize he is a goose and thinks he's actually a duck.
