Bygone Age
We're doing a clearout, an almost continual process since deciding to move, and Mrs B produces items that she would like to discard. This came out of the drinks and cigars cupboard (I haven't smoked for over ten years) as a candidate for the refuse, or eBay or the local marketplace – a cigar cutter which my father obtained (not bought, I would imagine) on one of his many trips overseas. We lived around the Middle East and Far East; I was born in Bombay, as was, and my brother in Baghdad, so we travelled very frequently on BOAC – to and fro at school term and holiday times.
But just because I am extremely unlikely to use this cutter we don't have to discard it . . .
