We have been warned

A real wake up call - two young sisters were fined yesterday for driving five miles to walk around a reservoir. Apparently taking something to drink constituted a picnic. I know some people have criticised Derbyshire police for this, but our roads are so busy, you have to remind yourself that we’re actually in lockdown. 

I’m sad that I can’t really drive the ten miles to Fradley. It’s a beautiful reserve, flat, plenty of places to sit, lots to see, and a kingfisher to make your day. 

But we really need to take this seriously.

I walked down the lane this morning. It was shortly after eight fifteen, and it was reasonably light. It was tough and I’m achy. But I was so richly rewarded with gorgeous light, friendly socially distanced people, a lovely horse, a pheasant and lots to photograph.

But cars. Oh so many cars. It’s scary......
