Light my Fire
Too bad it wasn’t a song title theme today. This would have been a good one.
As we were leaving after baby-sitting last night (after midnight) we spotted a fire in a rubbish bin across the street. We thought we’d better ring 000 and report it.
The fire brigade arrived in 7 minutes and extinguished it in about 7 seconds.
We would have felt a bit silly if it had been out by then but it was under a large tree so would have been sillier if we hadn’t and it had caught alight.
All good fodder for Silly Saturday.
Today we minded the grandchildren while Graham and Bec went to the cricket.
I walked down to Tunks Park with them this morning while Mr isbi waited for the locksmith to attend after our front door lock fell apart.
This afternoon we took them to the beach (Balmoral). I’ve never seen it so busy there. After driving around for ages we were lucky to jag a parking spot. The kids had lovely time.
This evening we all had dinner along with my niece and her two children at North’s Leagues Club.
It may not sound very COVID safe but the social distancing and lack of people at the cricket and the club dispelled any concerns. The beach would have been more of a worry but it was outdoors and still easy to keep several metres from anyone else.
