On a day of freezing fog, this often photographed scene of Clegg Hall Mills was not only indistinct in the mist but the colour seemed to have been washed-out.

Annoying Post Office queue tale no.94: it is bad enough waiting to be served, standing behind someone who wishes to engage the Post Office staff in a lengthy non-Post Office-related conversation, but it is far worse when you have to wait outside the shop in the freezing cold, with your glasses steamed-up due to mask wearing, waiting for that conversation to end.
