On the Road

On the road by 6am as I had made a date with hubby to go kayaking in Fife in the evening.
Not another vehicle on the road which is incredibly unusual on Skye in August.
I took a detour down to Kylerhea to see if I could spot any otters. Normally, in the height of summer, I wouldn't contemplate this journey as the camper vans and hire cars would rip my knitting. I didn't see another person until after 9am.
Every turn of the road seemed to bring new vistas and, for once, I had time, and no tailgaters, to enjoy and stop at will.
It was worth the early rise, especially when the day closed with a peaceful evening on the River Tay.
