Male Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)
I am finding that being locked down is radically reducing the opportunities for blips. Yes I know we are allowed out for exercise but there are a number of factors which need borne in mind. First I am in a vulnerable group. Then the guidance says exercise locally within your village, town or part of city. Finally the new variant is at least 50% more infective this means that if restrictions would have got the old variant down to an R of 0.6 the new will be 0.9. That R will take 20 to 25 times as long to get the infections down with the same restrictions. We all need to stay home.
So blip is another blip of a bird this time a male Scoppie (using the dialect of my youth) Chaffinch to most people.
