Industrial beauty under repair

This is the scene opposite where I live, alongside the Crinan Canal in Argyll. A beautiful industrial waterway now looks like a giant ditch. There is a major repair and renovation project under way, to be undertaken in two phases in 2021 and 2022. Part of the canal has been drained and replacement lock gates are being supplied, along with other works. I’ll take pictures of the work, the canal, the people doing the restoration work and people who live here from time to time.

Despite freezing temperatures water has continued to pour out of this supply pipe into the drained canal.
