the cold still lingering, a different coffee, hills topped with cloud and the streets painted with winter light, the air less humid now... local news tells that there are 70 plus deaths from the cold snap but when you see how many folk are to be found living under bridges and scant shelters around the river paths... other reports are of a 6km blockage on the road up to datunshan and whatever remnants of the snow are clinging on up there, a day for a hillwalk and a day to avoid the hills... chocolate and coffee then, with possibilities of port sighted upon the evening horizon...
