Small Comfort
There are about 100 homeless people sleeping in tents on the lawn between the library and city hall. The weather has not been kind to them.
A well-organized group is helping provide food, clothing, and other necessities. Cynthia and I donated a few of the most-needed items and delivered them yesterday to the group coordinator. These included hand warmers, protein bars, socks, gloves, batteries, and a foam sleeping pad.
Some people are sleeping with just sheets of cardboad for insulation. I can't imagine what it must be like to live in those conditions.
I had another pad, which needed to be washed, so I did that today, and will drop it off tomorrow.
