Form & function
Had a busy day but thanks to easter holidays making the traffic lighter i had 20 minutes before a meeting for a bucolic break and found a very civilsed fry up van that did twinings english breakfast tea right by the open fields!
I love little pieces of history like this place, i wonder how many people walk past this brick drum and just ignore it? (Now things like this fascinate me but i often find myself in a minority). Its actually an air vent dating back originally to 1770, 30 feet below this is a tunnel over 1,000 metres long carrying the Trent Mersey canal to join the Bridgewater canal and the tunnel is still in regular use despite being over 200 years old.
Cracking day, even the fact that the little blue tractor was slurry spreading couldnt ruin it, plus the plumbing i did until late last night hasnt leaked so big YAY all round :)
