Grotto

Sorry that's its not a more exciting photo today.
Its been a bit grey and dull all round today.
The highlight of the day was a walk in Craiglockhart Dell and Redhall Gardens, Slateford -close to where we live.  Close to the river is an old Grotto, that has a waterfall flowing behind and round it.  At its best it would have been lined with shells, similar to the structure in The Queen Mother's Garden at Edinburgh Botanics.
It dates from the 19th Century around 1830 and was built in a Gothic Style in the grounds of Craiglockhart House by Sir Alexander Monro.
It is occasionally used for weddings.
