Esk Railway Station

The rail trail has several ‘horse by pass ‘ trails.

In towns the old railway stations are often restored and the surrounding land converted to parks and gardens. Horse riding groups use the rail trail for organised rides but the towns didn’t like large groups of horses coming into the middle of town and pooping everywhere. So they created accessory pathways to bypass town centres.

Yesterday we walked the Esk bypass trail then walked back into town along the rail trail.

The Esk railway station is a cute Victorian weatherboard structure.
