The Clyde, the glorious, empty Clyde
Went down to Braehead to fix a date for an eye test and a short walk brought me out to this view.
At one time this stretch of water would have been heaving with traffic. Ships being built and launched, cargo vessels going up and down to the King George V docks and of course day trippers going "doon the watter" on the other Queen Mary.
Now all is quiet. A solitary warship lies not far from where great battleships such as HMS's Hood, Repulse and Vanguard were built not to mention the Royal Yacht Britannia. Now only three yards remain where once there was over thirty.
In the far distance you may be able to see the TITAN crane (blue) which was used to lift heavy guns and large marine engines into place. Now it is a tourist site, well worth visiting, but you must have a head for heights.
