There’s life ...
... in the old log yet!
I can almost hear the groans.
My day off so I took a walk down to Chadkirk and the river (only 5 minutes away so not breaking any exercise rules).
Kirkwood is part of the Chadkirk Country Park. It’s a managed woodland which means that it’s tree population is controlled, they are replacing some of the sycamores with oak and ash. Any trees that are felled are left on the ground to decompose and provide a natural habitat for wildlife and various mosses, fungi and ferns.
