Monday's wet and windy weather was obviously a passing phase as it was back to cold, dry and sunny on Tuesday. A day for making soup, especially since the forecast for the next few days involves snow, although we'll see how that develops.
So my Tuesday morning involved chopping vegetables and adding them to the pulses that had been soaking overnight in preparation. While the nascent soup was bubbling away I recorded a reading that I'd been asked to make for Sunday's church service.
And then a short drive down to Bonnybridge and a wander along the Canal and around Bonnyfield Local Nature Reserve. One paved path through the nature reserve was a bit like a skating rink, but the other paths were fine to walk on.
There were a few families out enjoying the sunshine - many school pupils are either still on an extended holiday or have started at-home online learning - and also a few groups of teens taking a break from their studies. A quick pop into Scotmid and home to a warming bowl of home-made soup. Bliss!
