Working on 'said'

We will keep adding words to this. It is going on the wall to help with the boys writing. We got about 10 to 15 minutes in to this activity and there was a car accident right outside our house. A car drove straight into a van that had stopped in front. It didn't seem that he even braked a there we no skidding sounds or marks, just the sound of the actual crash.
I went out to slow cars down as they came around the bend so that they didn't hit the cars involved in the accident which were blocking one side of the road, causing cars passing them to move into the path of oncoming traffic. Last time something similar happened, we managed to prevent at least 3 accidents by doing this. The road is a 30mph zone but people tend to speed. Accidents are not that uncommon along here.
The police attended the scene in the end and he driver of the car behind was treated by an ambulance as he had injuries to his face where the air bag had inflated. The cars were towed away.
I really think the area needs some more speed awareness measures put in place.
