Frosty filings

When you put iron filings on a sheet of card and move a magnet below the card the filings flock in fascinating formations creating their own metallic murmurations!

After a rainy night that prevented sightings of the aurora which were spectacular just a little further north a frost set in. My blip shows the ice patterns that had formed on the bonnet of our car. It was almost as if Jack Frost had found a magnet and enjoyed waving it below the bonnet.

The crisp clear day was a great boost to morale with blue skies and sunshine made for a very pleasant walk after the business zoom calls had been successfully completed.

I got the strong impression that there were far less people outwith Portobello on the beach today. Perhaps the stay home message is getting through.

The locals though are still attracted to all the take away cafes and gather there like iron filings round magnets.
