Sea Weed
The 2 words in my title sum up a lot of today!! Danny and I had our first date morning in over a month - a walk along the coast. Such a lovely time...then just as we got back into the car we had a call from Nate's teacher saying he'd wet himself and was extremely upset and wouldn't allow anyone to change him. Danny went and sorted him and he wet himself again in his only back up clothes and by the time we picked him up at lunchtime he'd wet himself a third time. Poor boy burst into tears when he saw me at the school gate.
On our way back to the flat after Danny had been into school, we got pulled over by the police. It was quite a full on experience - obviously checked all our documents, then searched us (extremely thoroughly) and searched the car...treated us like we were big time criminals. All pretty intimidating, and humiliating with passers by watching. I think they're making sure only 1 household is in any car and instilling fear so people obey the 'semi-lockdown' we've begun today. Not a nice experience. After having had a lovely first half of the morning, the second half left us feeling pretty rubbish.
We needed something nice so actually came back to this beach with the kids - fresh air and beauty, you could almost believe there's nothing wrong in the world.
Miracle of miracles Nate managed a wee on the beach - breakthrough we thought! But since then he's adamant he'll not wee again and we've had more accidents. Life with a 3 year old is tiring and messy!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) A great start to the morning to see us through the weirdness of the rest of it.
2) All our documents being up to date and on us.
3) Beauty beauty beauty.
