Teleprompted

In late 2020, I started a video blog project with a friend, Aarni, who also works in construction tech consultancy in Finland. We have experimented with different styles of video (first, full-length programmes lasting around 35-40 minutes; latterly, shorter single item features), and with different presentation modes (some with joint discussions; others simple compilations). We've used Zoom, shot in locations, done interviews, and presented pieces to camera - although this was sometimes awkward without a teleprompter. Now both Aarni and I have invested in teleprompters.

I spent a couple of hours today assembling the kit, then finding and working out how to use a teleprompter app on my Samsung tablet, connected a Bluetooth remote control, then tested it all on a video about interoperability.

(Seems kind of appropriate that as technology writers and consultants, we've also had to learn a lot about video and audio technologies over the past five months.)
