The spirit is slowly leaving

She is now finally back in our retirement home care center. The end of november she was taken at the hospital for a health issue. During her hospitalisation she contracted covid 19. Luckily she survived it. She came back half december and stayed temporarely on the 2nd floor of our care unit. We had also a corona outbreak so she couldn t come back to our unit. Again she had to be taken to hospital and became desorientated. Finally she s back but not the same anymore. It s like the spirit is gone. 
From the beginning i had a good relation with her and i m like a bit a godfather for her , let s say she feels safety in my company. Whenever she has to , she can ventilate her worries and i try to listen. So she was happy to see me and i accompanied her for a smoke ( not me i am anti smoking).
