Well, it worked!
On 21st December I blipped that, instead of making one large Christmas cake, 'this time I made 24 little ones for me in the hope I will ration it and not pile on the weight in the week after Christmas because you just can't cut a small piece of a large cake can you? These little cakes weigh only 60-70g each - so, if I only eat one a day ....... if being the operative word!!! (two disappeared before they got cold!)
Twenty-three days later - and I had the last cake left for my tea this evening! No way would a big cake have lasted this long - I couldn't cut slices small enough.
And it wasn't stale - rich fruit cake lasts well in a tin.
