The Better Angels of Our Nature

Dear Diary,

Trump was impeached for a second time yesterday with only a few days left before the inauguration of Biden and Harris.  This morning I am thinking of the first inauguration of Abraham Lincoln as the Civil War was just beginning.

“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”

My photo today is of a mixed media piece a friend made for me several years ago since real angels are somewhat hard to come by.  I hope those "better angels of our nature" arise and calm can be restored.  6 more days...
