The take off

Spent some time in the skagit valley on Wednesday.....frustrating day in that places that were possibilities to eat and bathroom stops were not open where anticipated to be....many roads had closure signs on them and it turned out that power was off in pockets of the valley.  Places were closed because of that.  Not too many birds spotted either....reminder to self...always pack lunch just in case...should have known better!!!!  Talked to a power service guy who said there were live power lines across the roads and trees down too.  When I departed for the valley I had no idea that the storm the night before had been that damaging.  Hopefully most folks willl get their power back soon!!!
