Floods at Bell Lane bridge
I was going to abstractify my blip choices, then decided none of the tricks I chose made any discernible improvement to the original. So it’s not an entry for Abstract Thursday. It’s not abstract and it’s not about symmetry either.
I was not surprised to learn that many of you are also faced with mountains of slides which fill up cupboards and spaces in their homes. Approaches range from selecting just the very best from an extensive archive, to getting them digitised professionally to not knowing the best approach. I’m in the latter group.
It was dreadful today. Wall to wall rain which resulted in flooding and road closures in the usual places. It was cold too, with a biting northeasterly wind.
I did a bit of prep for an online course on essential digital skills we’re creating for tutors who teach young people in custody. It’s a challenging tension; young people in custody do not (understandably) have access to all the digital technologies we on the outside do.
However, their successful rehabilitation depends on being able to work and live in a digital society. Young people are being deskilled while in custody. This course aims to help young people to experience the main issues and competencies even if access to any sort of digital technology is limited.
