Toffee pennies from heaven

Towards the end of last term there was a tub (okay maybe more than one) of Quality Street in the staff room. It rapidly diminished and to my surprise the last sweets were the toffee pennies. This sparked a debate of who liked which sweets the most.

“No one in our house likes them,” said a colleague.

Several others agreed.

“what?” Squawked moi.

My colleague laughed and jokingly said she’d save me the ones from her family Christmas tub.

She wasn’t joking. They were in my pigeonhole yesterday morning! I couldn’t stop grinning!
