Comparing notes

This is the only photo taken today... to compare amarylis with the girls.. I gave them both one for Christmas.. but mine had a weeks head start on theirs as they planted theirs on boxing day.  One of theirs is only just showing a tiny tip of green on the bulb and the other is about the same size as mine.. so the race is on!
What a damp and horrible day it has been.  Not helped by the fact our oil is running low and the people cannot supply it until sometime next week so the central heating is off in order to preserve what there is for the aga.  (monitoring alarm is going off which means we are super low) I ordered it last monday but due to covid isolations with drivers they have a backlog.  I have paid a different company upfront for a quick delivery on Monday as I think the aga will be out by then and will wait to see what happens. I am glad we have an electric emersion override and open fires so if the aga does go out we can still get hot water and have a warm room.. in the mean time our winter woollies will have to be worn.
