Dendrobium cunninghamii

..is a native New Zealand orchid.  A few months a go a friend who has an exceptional knowledge of plants and trees, particular;y NZ natives noticed an insignificant looking plant attached to a tree and cascading several metres  She though it could be a native dendrobium and if it was it would flower in January. So today it was a trip out to have a look.  Thrilled to find this tiny flower close enough to photograph, all the others were much higher. To give an idea of the siz of the flower in context to the bush I have included an extra -  if you look very very closely you may spot it in the first extra (very hard)   I have cropped it see more easily in the second extra.
