Hokusai the noo!

We got this phaleanopsis a long time ago when it was in bloom. The blooms fell away and we nurtured a gnarled stick for many months. Much to our surprise it bloomed again and it keeps blooming and falling back and sending out new buds irrespective of the seasons. It keeps giving. Of course, these flowers always remind me of Japanese woodblock prints like those created by Hokusai.

In other news, a landmark run for me today. First time in my life I've ran 5k and I did it in (very slightly) less than 30 mins - a week and a half ahead of c25k target.
