Toogoolawah

We’re in Toogoolawah, it’s an Aboriginal word meaning ‘bent tree’.

The first pioneer settler in the area came from Bakewell in the UK and wanted the town renamed Bakewell. But the government decided to stick with the local aboriginal name.

We rode the rail trail at sunrise today and we’re back by 7-30am, by which time it was already 25 degrees. We passed a little church, the sunrise was ‘divine’ the Sparrow said. I was too busy running to figure out what she meant.

It’s going to be 37 today, that’s hot. We’re sitting in Ziggy with the aircon going full blast having brekky. Looks like a day of drawing and music coming up.

The Silverback said he was happy to be Toogoolawah travellers rather than Bakewell tarts. Hmm... might Google that later too!
