Crocus pestalozzae

One of the smallest crocuses but it makes up for it by being generous with its flowers. The dark spots in the throat of each flower are characteristic of this species. E A Bowles likened them to tiny grains of soil.

Eadily raised from the tiny seeds, by far the smallest seeds of any crocus, which are freely produced. It is hardy outside here but must be sited with care as it is so small.
