Drinking pitcher
I don't know what the rest of the world is like, but these kinds of drinking cans were used a lot in the coal mines in the south of our country/province. It was made of tin with an iron bracket with a porcelain cap with a rubber sealing ring.
Here the sealing ring has been considerably affected by the ravages of time and will certainly not seal 100% anymore.
